The Earth2World production team has partnered with the Portland film community to produce seven short teaser videos for a charity fundraiser event that will take place on 10/30 called the PDX Freak Show. The spots featured costumed “freaks” making appearances at several local businesses, including Widmer Brothers Brewing, New Deal Distillery and the Freakybuttrue Peculiarium (truly a gem of a shop – how did we not know of this place before?!). The first of the four spots were filmed on Tuesday 9/14 with the remainder on the schedule for Sunday 9/18. E2W directors Jacqueline Gault and Martin Vavra co-directed the spots with DP Robert Pallotta. We couldn’t be more proud of the way the team worked together on a tight schedule (4 company moves in 12 hours!), kept their cool under pressure, and walked away with giant smiles on their faces! We’ll post the videos here in the next few days.
Heart Of The Matter: Mercy Corps NW – Ep. 12
Mercy Corps NW is a local gem, providing financial independence, employment, and visibility to low-income folks across the states of Oregon and Washington. Economic challenges and disasters have effected so many and Mercy Corps NW is there to provide the tools and resources that result in amazing success stories. Speaking of ‘amazing’, we’ll introduce you to the man who makes this non-profit organization hum, John Haines, and some of the other Mercy Corps NW team members as well.
Have You Heard? Hosted By Byron Beck: Ep. 29
Episode Description: Byron Beck’s guest co-host is Ian Karmel, recently named Portland’s Funniest Person. Artist Andrew Dinwiddie, who is performing his one-man show “Get Mad at Sin!” as part of PICA’s TBA festival, joins them along with Sally Bowers of The Original, who has created a special pudding shot (or a “Pooter”, as she calls it) in honor of Byron Beck.
